ClearlySpeaking developed the Private Online Mentoring Program (one-on-one speech coaching) when it became clear that many students struggled to do a self-study program independently. Some participants missed getting feedback (to make sure they are practicing correctly) and others told us that having someone keep them accountable to practice was essential to their success.

The key to success of ClearlySpeaking’s Private Online Mentoring Program is not just recognizing a communication problem, but also understanding how difficult it is to train habits and a willingness to do the work it takes to make changes. Having a mentor to keep you accountable for practice and provide feedback is an excellent way to stay on track with your goal of being better understood.

The Private Online Mentoring Program Benefits

Your own personal, certified speech coach, with eight sessions by telephone or via the internet. This package includes an  initial, thorough assessment to evaluate your development needs, and to create a personalized program for you. We’ll help you determine just where you should spend most of your time to make you more understandable.

Scheduling is flexible between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern time. Weekly sessions are a must.

Unlimited email access. You send questions, and we send the answers. Responses are usually within 12 hours, and often within an hour or two. If you need help more quickly, you can call us.

Attendance to all public webinars is free. (This is a $37 value/webinar). Webinars include a lecture, often topics program members have suggested, followed by a discussion. If you can’t attend, you are able to view the recorded webinars online within 24 hours. You have two weeks to listen to what you missed – at a time convenient to you.

Course access for four months. (Longer if you do another self-study program.)

Prerequisite

Before beginning the program, you must read and sign the mentoring program contract. It requires a commitment to practice daily for at least 15 minutes. It also explores your reasons of wanting to make changes in your speech, and what the program is “not.”  It helps you set your goals for your speech.  It is available to you in the private area.

How many people are in the Private Online Mentoring Program?

We accept only as many as we can comfortably handle — and only those who we are convinced will do the hard work necessary to achieve success. If, during the initial evaluation, we don’t think you are a good match with the program, we will refund your tuition.

Program Cost

Regular tuition for private one-on-one coaching is $1,995   (But if you are enrolled in a course, you pay:  $597.)    Think of how much you can accomplish with unlimited email support and free attendance to webinars, plus eight sessions of one-on-one mentoring.

Private Coaching (Pay-by-the-hour)

Are you concerned about a small problem achieving one or two sounds? Are you struggling with American intonation? Maybe you want advise on a presentation that you’ll be giving and maybe you don’t quite need the full coaching program. If you like having one-on-one attention from an experienced speech trainer who can help you along with a customized plan that is made just for you, then, consult by the hour.

Most people who consult privately by-the-hour do it for two reasons:

1. They don’t want to pay for something they don’t need. They are seeking short term advice.

2. They want the customized training that addresses very specific communication issues and having a coach to keep them accountable, is important.
