A Secret for Conveying Friendliness

Do you negotiate, manage, or interview over the phone? Would you like to improve your success rate of getting others to see your point of view? Smiling and standing while speaking on the telephone can create dramatic, positive changes in the tone of the conversation. Warmth and friendliness will be conveyed through your vocal tone with a simple smile even though your listener can't see you. Without the smile, the tone changes and conveys a less personable, business-like demeanor. Did you just hear my voice change?  I wasn’t smiling when I said that last sentence.  If friendliness is vital to closing a deal or convincing an employee, try smiling while talking on the phone.
