Speaking and a Dry Mouth

Has your mouth ever been so dry that it is obvious while speaking? A dry mouth is a common problem and caused by certain medications, medical treatments, dehydration, diseases and infections, smoking, and sometimes stress. If you experience the condition frequently and it interferes with communication, talk to your doctor. There are effective solutions to the problem (e.g. adjusting medications) and there are medications available to increase saliva. Yet another simple solution to try while speaking is to drink plenty of water and/or suck on a small candy to increase the flow of saliva to your mouth.
